Microworlds

A study of the world "too" small to see with the naked eye.  Students will venture into a world of both non-living and living micro-organisms.  The kit focuses on students' ability to accurately sketch what they see through either a hand lens or microscope while learning the properties of magnification.

Levers and Pulleys

Students revisit simple machines, by focusing on how levers and pulleys make work easier.  They will have an opportunity to construct three different lever systems and four pulley systems.  Which lever system and pulley system provides the most advantage?

Sinking and Floating

What makes an object sink?  What makes an object float?  Students will investigate the natural forces at work; gravity, buoyant force and displacement.  They will identify how size, shape, design and material affect an objects buoyancy.  A fun filled kit, with great, "wet" hands-on activities!
