Mission Statement
We, the Special Education Local Advisory Committee, are parents, caregivers, teachers, support staff and other members of the community who are involved in, or concerned with the education of students with disabilities.
As a support and advocacy group, we are committed to creating a secure link between general and special education by promoting school/parent/community partnerships by increasing awareness and encouraging involvement by all parties. We will advise and make recommendations to the school committee, administration, and teachers to ensure that all students in North Kingstown receive a quality education. A quality education is the foundation for every life-long learner.
The NKSELAC realizes that families with children who have any type of special need may want the support and guidance that others in a similar situation can give. We aim to assist in any way, including navigating regulations and testing as well as lending moral support. Please join us in supporting the many caring people who work with our children and celebrating the abilities of our children and how they grow.
