Dr. DeNoble will be giving a presentation to the middle schools and the 5th grade. Dr. DeNoble is a former tobacco research scientist who describes his secret lab work at the Philip Morris Tobacco Company and his risky decision to expose the truth about the tobacco companies. He is known as a tobacco industry whistleblower since he testified before Congress about the addictive and dangerous properties of nicotine. He has appeared on each of the major network tv news programs and has been featured on 60 Minutes, Dateline, and Good Morning America. During his speech, Dr. DeNoble doesn’t tell students not to smoke, but gives them the facts about the scientific results of nicotine. Dr. DeNoble’s visit is sponsored by Working Together for Wellness Prevention Task Force, through a grant from RI Department of Health’s Tobacco Control Program.
