The second trimester has just begun and to date the students have been instructed on working safely in a manufacturing and production lab setting. All emergency protocols have been explained and student will take the safety test this upcoming week. A safety contract must be signed by the students and their parents explaining the importance of working in a safe manner while participating in the many various hands-on activities associated with the wood technology program. Once those two requirements are met then we will begin demonstrating machine and equipment operation and related safety instructions.

We are getting ready to start to produce our first product which is the Shaker style CD holder. After we take our safety test and hand in our safety contract the students will start operating the equipment to produce this very useful product. The plans can be found below and please enjoy the pictures. I have demonstrated the proper technique of using a crosscut hand saw to the students so I decided to put them into action. Checkout how they made out below by clicking on the Quicktime movie icon. Enjoy the footage lights, camera and action!!
