The first trimester students have been working hard to complete pens for the November 30th deadline to support TURN for TROOPS. The pen packets were double checked to make sure the pens, letters, and DMS identification tags were complete. The final count was 75 finished pens and they were packaged and delivered to Freedom Pen Project  in New Orleans, LA. They will be shipped out soon and given to troops overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq. Students are also making Wall Street II Acrylic pens for themselves as a reward for their hard work. Mr. Berndt has given the students an incentive to turn as many freedom pens as possible. Students who turn two freedom pens receive a free Slimline pen kit for their own pen and students who make five freedom pens receive a complimentary Wall Street pen kit complete with an acrylic blank. Students are also selecting some other cool projects to learn how to manufacture them using laser engraving and cutting, dye sublimation, direct to garment printing, and some vinyl graphics designing t-shirts andusing a plotter cutter to cut out their design.
